Websites and Google listings for trades · Metro Vancouver

Your business, online.
Handled.

I set up and run the online presence for local trades and service businesses: the website, the Google listing, the reviews, and the monthly upkeep. You stay on the tools.

  • No jargon, ever
  • No lock-in. You own the domain
  • One person to text

Recent work

BRB Landscape & Trucking, Vancouver

A landscaping and trucking company with a site nobody could find and a form nobody could fill in.

Before

  • One page on Squarespace, titled just "BRB"
  • No phone number or email anywhere on it
  • The word Vancouver did not appear once
  • A quote form that asked for your country

After

  • Ten pages, one for each service, written for local searches
  • Call and text buttons on every screen, pinned on phones
  • A three-field form and a photo-to-text option
  • Loads in under a second on a phone

What you get

The four things a local business needs online, done and kept running.

  • A website that works on a phone

Your services, your area, and your number on every page. Written for what people actually type into Google, like "junk removal Burnaby", not for what sounds fancy.

  • Your Google listing, done

Set up, verified, with photos, hours and services filled in. It's the map result people tap first, and most trades either don't have one or have one nobody finished.

  • Reviews, made easy

A link you text customers when a job is done, and I keep an eye on what comes in and help you answer it. Reviews are what move you up the map.

  • Monthly upkeep

Hosting, edits when your hours or services change, seasonal swaps, and a short monthly note on what happened: visits, calls, form sends.

How it works

One call, one visit, live in a week.

  1. 1

    A 20-minute call

What you do, where you work, what you've got online now. No prep needed.

  2. 2

    One visit

I come by, take photos of the truck and the work, set up your Google listing with you, and get your hours, area and licence details.

  3. 3

    Live in about a week

You check it on your phone, we fix what you want fixed, and it goes live on your domain.

  4. 4

    Then I keep it running

Text me when something changes. Once a month you get a short note on how it went.

Who's behind it

Plainly is James Huo, in Vancouver.

I started this because a friend with a landscaping company had a website nobody could find and a form nobody could fill in. The fix wasn't complicated. It just needed someone to actually do it, and then keep doing it.

That's the whole idea. Plain sites, plain talk, and one person who answers. No agency, no account manager, no jargon, and nothing that locks you in. If you'd rather be on the tools than on your laptop, that's who this is for.

FAQ

Things people ask on the call.

Do I own the site?

Yes. The domain is registered in your name, and if you ever leave you keep it and the site files. Nothing is held hostage.

What does it cost?

A one-time setup fee and a monthly fee. It depends on what you've already got and what you need, which is what the call is for. You'll have a number before anything starts.

How long does it take?

About a week from the visit to live. Getting the Google listing verified is the slow part, and that is on Google, not us.

What do I have to do?

One call, one hour when I come by, and answer a few texts. That is genuinely it.

Can I cancel?

Any time, month to month. You keep the domain and the files.

I already have a website.

Then we look at it. Sometimes it just needs fixing, sometimes it is easier to rebuild. I'll tell you which, and why.

Tell me what you do. I'll tell you what I'd fix.

Twenty minutes, no pitch deck. If your setup is fine, I'll say so.
